Security and integrity

Every installer should carry the publisher’s Authenticode code-signing identity, and a SHA-256 checksum should be published beside it. Compare the hash of the file you downloaded before you run it, and check that the signature names the publisher.

Antivirus products sometimes flag screen capture utilities because they install hooks, virtual drivers, or printer components. That pattern can create false positives. Quarantine only after you verify the signature and hash. More detail lives on the antivirus guide and Trust & Security page.

2026.3.1 includes OpenSSL 3.6.3 and a fix for an untrusted search path issue that could allow local privilege escalation. Keep the app updated so those patches stay applied.
